Legends Football League – WA Angels at VIC Maidens

I love American Football and generally try to support “women in sport”, whenever given the opportunity.

On Saturday 14 December 2013, AAMI Park Melbourne hosted the Week 2 Australia series match of Legends Football League – Victoria Maidens vs WA Angels. Played on a reduced playing area – a total of 50 yards (25 offense and defense) and with no field goals (or kicking/punting for that matter), making for a very attacking 7-on-7 event, despite the shorter 8 minute quarters.

Regardless of the opinions and politics of the revealing attire the girls wear on the field, there is one thing that can not be denied, and that is that girls truly take the sport seriously. They hit hard, play to win and best of all seem to really enjoy what they are doing.

Final score: Victoria Maidens 32, WA Angels 26.

It was a great game and I look forward to many more!

Below are some of my photos from the night …
