Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy) is one of my all time favorite games. It offered story narrative game-play that was unique, as well as exploring ideas and game mechanics rarely utilized. At it’s core, it provided an atmosphere and environment that enveloped the game-player’s mind.
Heavy Rain goes one step better, becoming the complete immersive experience, and just slightly a video game, also!
A story narrative delivered via four separate, though intertwined, character paths, Heavy Rain is a study of choices, conscience and consequences.
There is a lot I love about Heavy Rain. Most of all I love the invested brain-power you have to commit to every action (or even non-action) as you unravel the complex story that can be emotionally draining.
To say too much about Heavy Rain would be giving too much away. It’s really something that needs to be experienced, best of all.
I’m not suggesting Heavy Rain is not without flaws. What I am saying is that the game is an example of where the industry should be going, it exceeded my very high expectations and is an instant classic!
